OSIP Adult Day Services

Finances

Most of our Participants have limited resources.  The OSIP Board of Directors long ago established a sliding fee schedule sensitive to need and income.  In order to support such an open door policy for participants, OSIP solicits funds through an annual appeal letter to the community.  We also have fundraising events such as flea market, an Ice Cream sale at the annual Cracker Barrel Bazaar, food sales and raffles.  These events enhance our ability to provide services while increasing community awareness of the program.

FUNDING

We rely on funding from

· The Vermont Department of Disability, Aging and Independent Living (DAIL)

· Medicaid

· USDA meal subsidies and

· The Green Mountain United Way.

Funding is also received from the Towns we serve, local businesses and individual private donors, in addition to fees and contributions from our participants, many of whom now have limited resources.  We welcome donations in any amount to keep this vital program in our community.

UNSOLICATED FUNDS

We receive many unsolicited gifts.  They are from people giving money in memory of a loved one, a gift from Helping Hands from Hitchcock Hospital (at one of their employee’s request), as well as a donation from the Newbury Congregational Church’s Mustard Seed fund. We also receive unsolicited gifts from members of the community who believe in the importance of the program for the community. All of these may be one time gifts but they are so very welcome and again a sign of community awareness.
